CCSC Volunteers: Answers To Your Questions
1. What exactly does volunteering mean?
Volunteering is doing something that directly benefits the club: a club sponsored activity or event. Participating in a training clinic with your horse is not volunteering, but
selling food, or manning a membership booth is. Volunteering for another trail riding club does not count. Yes, it benefits trails, but if it
is not a CCSC Club project, it doesn't count.
If you have a question about whether
some activity would be considered volunteering, contact the Volunteer Program Coordinator, Jane Rohde jane@w3tek.com.
2. Can I count the time I spend driving to get posters printed and distributed?
Yes.
3. Do I have to get my volunteer time validated?
Yes. When you volunteer at an event, be sure to sign the sign-in sheet. If there is no sign-in sheet, have the person in charge of the event, or
a board member validate your hours, and make sure that the paper is given to the Volunteer Program Coordinator so that your hours can be recorded.
4. Is there a volunteer list that gets called if CCSC needs someone?
No. Volunteers contact a committee chairman, or the designated person on the events page if they wish to volunteer.
5. I volunteered for CCSC one year, but I didn't join CCSC the following year. I have now rejoined CCSC. Can I count the volunteer hours from
before my membership to CCSC lapsed?
No, if your membership to CCSC lapses, your volunteer hours are lost.
