Introduction to the CCSC Trail Mileage Program

The CCSC Trail Mileage Award Program offers a personal challenge--you and your horse against yourselves. How many miles can you cover? CCSC members who register will receive awards for lifetime miles ridden on organized trail rides.

The mileage year will be from November 1 through October 31. This will allow the awards to be made within plenty of time before the Christmas party.

All participants will receive the same mileage for a ride. The ride leader will determine a ride's mileage. If a rider takes a different route, turns around and goes back, or goes back out without the ride leader, then the ride mileage will not count.

Only for the year 2012, any organized ride you go on from October 24 until December 31, 2011 should be kept on a log and turned into the Trail Mileage Program Chairperson in January, 2012.

All of the awards will be presented at the Christmas party at year-end.

How It Works

  • Step 1: Fill out a Trail Mileage Award registration form. download form
    You can also get a form from Lynn Vaughan, CCSC Treasurer, at a monthly members meeting.
  • Step 2: Send the registration form and the the yearly registration fee of $25.00 to

    Or you can give the registration form and fee to Lynn Vaughan at a Monthly Members' Meeting.

    The registration form must be accompanied by the fee. A rider is not considered registered for the Trail Mileage Program untill the fee is paid.

    Mileage is accumulated from the date a rider registers for the program.
  • Step 3: Go on any CCSC trail ride. Only CCSC Trail Rides will count. CCSC usually has 3 trail rides each month.
  • Step 4:Sign the sign-in sheet at the ride. The sign-in sheet will now have a space for the date, miles ridden, and a column for Trail Mileage Participant, which you should check if you are in the program. The leader of the ride will give the sign-in sheets to the Trail Mileage Program Chairperson, who will enter the miles from the sign-in sheet onto the website.
  • Step 5: Get your award for accumulated mileage at the annual Christmas party!
